	More Aero The TORPEDO Cage is design to meet the unique demands of a Between-the-Arms systems. Decreased Frontal Area: The arms of the TORPEDO Cage are designed to be very thin and lack the flared opening of our CHIMP or GORILLA Cages. This allows the TORPEDO Cage to move through the air with minimal drag. Decreased Arm Width: The interior circumference of the TORPEDO Cage is decreased compared to our other cages. The result is a cage that more closely follows the contours of your bottle and minimizes drag. Smooth Surface: Both the matte and gloss black versions of the cage feature a smooth, non-textured surface to make them move through the air with less turbulence.

More Secure Increased aerodynamics is one benefit of the TORPEDO Cage, but it still needs to grip your bottle. What are the key design features that make this horizontally mounted cage better than the rest? Deep Top Hook: The top hook of the TORPEDO Cage is designed wide and deep to securely lock into our TORPEDO BOTTLE. Strong Bottle Shelf: When installed horizontally, the bottle shelf acts as a stopper, preventing the TORPEDO BOTTLE from rearward ejections. When the TORPEDO Cage is installed using the included mounting hardware provided with our VERSA 200, VERSA 500, or VERSA SLIM the TORPEDO BOTTLE locks into the cage preventing forward bottle ejection.

	Dual Positioning The perfect complement to any BTA mount thanks to the deep sloping arms allowing for a quick pull up of a standard water bottle. With minimal surface and stylish arms the TORPEDO Cage has been popping up on road bike frames everywhere for a premium, sophisticated look.

Need even more grip? For best results, the TORPEDO Cage is designed to work with our XLAB bottles. On race day, use our TORPEDO BOTTLE for aerodynamic on-the-bike hydration. Refillable without removing it from your bike! For training, pair it with our COOL SHOT or AQUA SHOT bottles and gain an additional 2-3 lb of grip! Our bottles are designed to securely lock into XLAB cages!

Compatibility

One of the most important facts in bottle retention is the interface between cage and bottle.

To ensure the best possible fit with the TORPEDO Cage, use a bottle that has a consistent groove all the way around its neck. It should be uniform and fit tightly against the cages‘s top retaining hook. The bottle surface should be smooth without raised texture. For best results, use our aerodynamic TORPEDO BOTTLE, auto-nozzle AQUA SHOT, or our insulated COOL SHOT bottles.

Installation

Proper installation of the cage will provide you with years of trouble free use and ensure maximum performance.

Always use the proper tools to install your cages
All XLAB carbon cages should be installed with a stainless steel washer inserted under the bolt head
Bolts should be properly torqued. XLAB carbon cages should be tightened to 3.4 Nm (30-in-lb) of torque
The screws included with the TORPEDO Cage are for general frame mounting. When installing on an XLAB mount or as a BTA system, please use the appropriate hardware specified to ensure a reliable and secure install.

Care

As with all cycling accessories, our cages require regular care.

Leaving your bottle inserted in the cage for long periods of time can potentially deform and/or damage your bottle. Both of which can compromise bottle retention. We always recommend that you remove your bottles from their cages when not in use.
Friction between the cage and bottle is an important component in bottle retention. Residue build up, dirt, impact damage, and scaring can all effect how well your cage works. As with any cycling accessory, our cages should be regularly checked for damage and cleaned.
